What preferred suppliers ask before going live.
Can Capricorn members use their member number on a Shopify store?
Yes. With Trade Account Checkout installed on a Shopify Plus store, members tick the trade account option at checkout and enter their Capricorn member number. The number is validated, saved to the order as a pinned metafield, and the order is auto-tagged — ready for your existing Capricorn invoicing process.
How do I accept Capricorn on my Shopify store as a preferred supplier?
Install the app, label the field "Capricorn member number", add regex validation matching the member number format, and optionally pair it with a Shopify manual payment method so members can place orders without a card. Orders arrive as Payment pending with the member number attached.
Does the app charge the member's Capricorn account directly?
No. It's a field-capture checkout extension, not a payment method or an integration with Capricorn's billing systems. It captures and validates the member number on the order; you invoice the purchase through your existing Capricorn supplier process, the same way you handle a member quoting their number at the trade counter.
Can I capture a Capricorn member number and a PO number on the same order?
Yes. Configure multiple fields, each with its own label, validation, helper text, and required/optional setting — for example a required member number plus an optional PO or order reference.
Does this require Shopify Plus?
Yes. Checkout UI extensions that add fields inside the checkout are a Shopify Plus capability, so the app requires a Plus plan.
What happens if a member enters an invalid number?
If you set a validation pattern, the field rejects input that doesn't match before the order is placed and shows your custom error message — so you stop chasing typos after the fact.
