# Trade Account Checkout > Trade Account Checkout is a Shopify Plus checkout extension that captures trade account numbers, PO numbers, VAT IDs, and buying-group references as custom fields at checkout. Customers opt in, enter their business reference, and complete checkout through the store's existing payment setup. The number is validated, saved to the order as a pinned metafield, and the order is auto-tagged for filtering and export in Shopify admin. Paired with a Shopify manual payment method, it supports a full pay-on-account ordering workflow: the order completes without a card as Payment pending, and the merchant invoices through their existing process. It is a field-capture extension, not a payment method or gateway. Fully configurable, zero code, built on Shopify Checkout Extensibility. A KOL DEALS LTD product. ## What it does - Adds an opt-in trade account section to Shopify Plus checkout where customers enter their account, PO, member, or buying-group number. - Validates the reference at checkout (custom regex validation, custom label, placeholder, helper text, and error messages). - Stores the number as a pinned order metafield, visible to the merchant's team and accessible via the Shopify API. - Auto-tags trade orders (e.g. tag: trade-account) for easy filtering and one-click export from Shopify admin. - Shopify Flow ready: trigger automations on trade orders to send invoices, notify staff, or update a CRM. - Supports multiple fields on a single store (for example a Capricorn member number plus a PO number), each with its own label and rules. - Pay-on-account workflow: combined with a Shopify manual payment method (Settings > Payments > Manual payment methods), customers can place orders without a card.
